"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man - and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lust of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due."
Romans 1:20-27
It starts with a disregard for God and ingratitude. When man turns to idolatry, worshiping and serving the created rather than the Creator, God gives him up. When man fails to acknowledge God and sees himself as the reason for living, God gives him up. When man tries to please himself and not God to whom he was created for, God gives him up. The sin of homosexuality starts when man places himself at the center instead of God.
Homosexuality is not natural. In the beginning, it was told, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." (Genesis 2:24). This is God's original plan from the beginning, when sin has not yet entered man's heart. In the beginning, God created Adam (a man) and Eve (a woman), and saw that it was good, and He rested from all His work which He had done.
But man sinned (through Adam and Eve), and what was natural became unnatural, and what was unnatural became natural. Instead of eternal life, man died (spiritually) and will now have to die (physically) because of sin. Instead of paradise, man now lives on a cursed earth because of sin. Instead of being righteous, man became sinful by nature (Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12).
Homosexuality, which was not in the original plan of God, is now natural because of sin. Because men seek to live for themselves, God gave them up to vile passions, where men leave the natural use of the woman, burning in lust for one another and men with men committing what is shameful.
Sin is why some people believe they were already homosexuals at a very young age, the same reason why some very young children already have the propensity to lie and steal.
Some believe that sexual desire for people with the same sex is just natural, that even the animal kingdom exhibit the same desires. However, this "natural" desire does not agree with our "natural" use, the original purpose that God intended for us. Sin distorts the truth, so that people who love unrighteousness shall believe a lie (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12). Man may have homosexual desires from birth, but God had man's sexual function from the beginning: be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
Homosexuality, just like any other sin, is now innate to man because of sin. We were born sinners and now have the innate inclination and desire to sin. But what we "want" is different from what we "should be."
Homosexuality is just one sin: God wants everybody to go back to Him. We are all born with certain weaknesses in our lives because of our sinful nature: greed, pride, lust, envy. We do not have to carry these from birth to our deathbeds.
We were created for a purpose: to please God the way He desires it.
